CNC Grinder (Studer) – Late Shift (6PM–4AM, Monday to Thursday) – Hemel Hempstead.

Salary: £43,000–£51,000 per annum (£21.00/hour + £3.50 shift allowance). Overtime available at enhanced rates. Permanent position in the Aerospace sector. Start date: ASAP.

Role Description

This full‑time, on‑site role involves setting and operating CNC grinding machines (Studer) to optimise machining processes for accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set, operate, and manage CNC grinding equipment (Studer).
  • Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as required.
  • Perform in‑process quality checks to tight aerospace tolerances.
  • Interpret engineering drawings with precision.
  • Maintain safe working practices and adhere to production standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent, high‑quality output.
  • Support basic machine maintenance and care.
  • Ensure correct information is logged on tooling sheets, including updating amendments.
  • Recall saved programs and ensure any amendments are approved and correctly saved.
  • Ensure components submitted for first‑off inspection meet drawing requirements.
  • Pre‑set ready for the next job where practical.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Experience setting and operating Studer CNC grinders and manual machines.
  • Some understanding of mathematical concepts (e.g., trigonometry).
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
