CNC Turner – Programmer / Setter / Operator Location: Southampton, Hampshire Job Type: Full-time, Permanent A well-established engineering manufacturer, operating across specialist industrial sectors, is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join its machining team.
Due to continued growth and recent capital investment in new CNC turning equipment, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and expanding business.
The role will involve programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machinery , producing precision components to exacting quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Program, set, and operate CNC turning machines to produce components to specification Write, edit, and optimise CNC programs using G-code and CAM software (Fusion 360) Operate machines with Fanuc controls Read and interpret engineering drawings and work to ISO tolerances Select, install, and calibrate cutting tools Monitor machining processes to ensure components meet quality and dimensional standards Identify and resolve machining or process issues Carry out routine CNC machine maintenance Work closely with engineering and quality teams to meet production requirements Ensure delivery dates and internal milestones set by the Workshop Manager are achieved Maintain compliance with all health and safety procedures Candidate Requirements Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent time-served CNC machining background Strong experience in CNC turning with programming, setting, and operating capability Proven experience machining stainless steels Ability to work independently and as part of a team High attention to detail and quality-focused approach Package and Benefits Competitive salary (dependent on experience) Profit-related annual bonus Company pension scheme 22 days annual leave plus
