Overview

Our client, a well-established and growing precision engineering company, is currently seeking experienced CNC Operators/Setters to join their day shift manufacturing team. With a strong presence in the Automotive, Motorsport, Defence, and Electronics sectors, this is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled machinist to work on high-precision, low-volume components using state-of-the-art CNC machining technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC Horizontal/Vertical machining centres (Mazak, Heidenhain, and Fanuc controls)
  • Edit CNC programs at the machine as required to optimise performance
  • Produce first-off components and support production runs to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Inspect own work using appropriate measuring tools and techniques
  • Record production data and maintain routing sheet documentation
  • Maintain organisation by returning drawings, fixtures, and tools to the correct locations
  • Follow safety and quality standards to ensure product conformity
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including scrap reduction and process enhancements
  • Carry out basic machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe workspace

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in CNC milling with the ability to set and operate machinery
  • Comfortable working to tight tolerances and inspecting high-precision components
  • Knowledge of geometric tolerances (GD&T)
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work both independently and within a team
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail

Education & Experience

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
  • HNC Level 3 in Engineering (desirable)
  • Alternatively, a strong, proven track record in CNC machining will be considered
