Job Description

FURNITURE MAKER

Two Positions Available

Bedford

Salary around Negotiable £45k Depending on Experience

7am – 4pm Monday to Friday

Our Client is recruiting for Skilled Furniture Makers / Bench Joiners / Wood CNC Machinist

Due to further expansion within the business they are looking for an experienced furniture maker x 2 to join their team. It is an exciting time in the business – Our Client have invested in their buildings to continue to grow the woodwork team who can deliver the design-lead projects they are known for.

REPORTING TO

Department team lead

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work accurately from designs and drawings
  • Set out and accurately size sheet materials and solid timber from cutting lists
  • Effectively and efficiently use traditional woodworking machinery including but not limited: planer thickness, spindle moulder, wide belt sander, veneer press
  • Apply appropriate joinery techniques to assemble furniture from technical drawings
  • Produce high quality furniture products in line with exceptional company standards
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, considerate of waste materials
  • Opportunities for Biesse 5 axis Router machine programming and operating training would be available to a suitable candidate

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience as a quality cabinet or furniture maker or in a workshop environment
  • Experience with laminating, veneering and edge banding preferable but not required
  • Good knowledge of hand tools, workshop machinery and safe practices
  • Must be able to read and understand technical drawings and an understanding of AutoCAD would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience working with a wide range of materials such as MDF, real wood veneers, solid wood & MFC
  • Ability and experience of working to deadlines
