Job Summary
As Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing the manufacturing, warehouse, supply chain, and quality assurance functions. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across the business while contributing to the company's long-term strategic growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for driving efficiency, quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across operations. You will oversee manufacturing, quality and regulatory standards, and ensure the site operates safely and effectively.
Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will use data and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement, implement best practice initiatives, and support the delivery of exceptional service to customers. You will also lead, coach, and develop your teams, creating a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all product manufacturing and sourcing costs.
- Coordinate delivery dates with sales order processing and update logs to reflect actual stock status.
- Responsible for ordering all manufacturing materials, taking into account the manufacturing plan, existing stocks and customer demand.
- Progress any overdue orders required for manufacturing and keep Sales and Manufacturing informed of any potential delays.
- Ensure timely, accurate reports are produced to measure KPIs, following through with actions to address any failures against KPIs.
- Drive processes using Lean Six Sigma and 5S experience.
- Responsible for the Quality system, ensuring standards are maintained, improved upon, and that timely internal and external audits are carried out in compliance with regulations.
- Ensure all necessary Quality and Regulatory standards are met, including appropriate medical device certification and registration.
- Complete and execute a timetable for internal audits for ISO certification standards as and when required.
- Complete and execute an audit timetable on all key suppliers and new suppliers.
- Responsible for coordinating and managing physical stock takes, with justification on any discrepancies reported to the Managing Director.
- Ensure all company policies, relevant SOPs and controlled measures are adhered to within Logistics.
- Responsible for all functions within Logistics, ensuring the following:
- Accuracy of goods in/out.
- All aspects of stock maintenance including stock preservation, expiry and write-off proposals.
- Responsibility for material and finished goods resource planning:
- Supplier performance.
- Alternative sourcing.
- Supplier auditing.
- Reorder levels.
- Responsible for the Dunstable site, including all Health and Safety.
- Lead and develop direct reports through on-the-job learning and development, including identifying learning and development requirements, maintaining training records and completing PDRs in a timely manner.
- Provide leadership and direction to all direct reports, ensuring business objectives are achieved.
- Manage direct reports to ensure operational objectives and KPIs are met, reviewed and reported on monthly.
- As part of the Senior Leadership Team, develop, evolve and roll out the company's 3/5-year strategy.
