Role Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Power BI Consultant for a 3–4 month contract engagement to support the EDP project through advanced Paginated and SSRS reporting capabilities. The consultant will work closely with engineering and data teams to deliver high-impact reporting solutions that meet complex formatting, parameterization, and visualization requirements.
This role demands hands-on expertise with Report Builder, Power BI Paginated Reports, and Azure Maps, along with a strong understanding of dynamic parameter handling and data-driven subscriptions. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running and contribute immediately to project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement paginated reports using Report Builder with advanced formatting and layout controls including:
- Pagination control, conditional visibility, repeat on page, page numbering, and conditional formatting.
- Configure dynamic parameter passing via URL to Power BI paginated reports.
- Implement M parameter handling with query folding for performance optimisation.
- Develop rich visualisations beyond tables, including:
- Charts with axes, scale breaks, strip lines, small multiples, gauge indicators, dynamic icons, and embedded images.
- Azure Maps integration for geospatial rendering within paginated reports.
- Design robust parameter frameworks including:
- Default values, cascading parameters, multi-select, \'All\' options, and optional parameters.
- Set up and manage data-driven subscriptions and parameter scheduling patterns.
