The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 Β£ per year.
As a Registered Building Inspector, carry out the restricted duties within the level of registration and within the postholder's competence. Provide management and control in the administration and enforcement of the Building Safety Act, Building Act, Building Regulations, London Building Acts and allied legislation to ensure an adequate standard of construction, with regard to public health and safety, in respect of the built environment within the geographical area of the Borough.
To undertake technical assessments/activities and make decisions on those assessments to effectively deliver the Building Control function throughout the Council's jurisdiction and as part of any partnering or similar scheme, ensuring buildings comply with the relevant regulatory standards in terms of health, safety, sustainability, energy conservation, accessibility and design.
To be able to effectively manage a range of projects examining plans and carrying out site inspections, initiating and dealing with enforcement action. Assessing dangerous structures and implementing immediate remedial works. Be responsible for RBI's at a lower class of registration including Class 1 and under your supervision.
Where appropriate and within limits of competence to provide supervision and management of the work of others within the supervisory and management framework.
