The predicted salary is between 74250 - 90750 Β£ per year.

This is an early-career electrical engineering role based in our Client's London office, supporting the design and delivery of electrical systems for data centre and mission-critical facilities in the UK and wider Europe.

The role supports senior engineers across the design lifecycle, developing technical knowledge and practical experience within a high-performance mission-critical delivery environment.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support electrical design delivery on data centre and mission-critical projects
  • Prepare calculations, drawings and documentation under senior engineer supervision
  • Develop technical knowledge of data centre electrical systems and UK regulatory requirements
  • Assist with coordination across disciplines and project documentation
  • Build foundational experience towards professional chartership

Job Accountabilities:

  • Design Support
    • Support the preparation of electrical calculations, specifications and drawings under supervision.
    • Assist in developing concept, schematic and detailed design deliverables.
    • Help ensure design outputs align with applicable UK and international standards.
    • Support senior engineers in resolving design and coordination queries.
  • Documentation & Coordination
    • Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation and design records.
    • Support coordination with mechanical, public health, structural and architectural disciplines.
    • Assist with tracking design comments, RFIs and technical submissions.
  • Technical Development
    • Develop working knowledge of data centre electrical systems, standards and best practice.
    • Participate in training, mentoring and on-the-job learning opportunities.
    • Progress towards professional chartership (IET) under company support schemes.
  • Construction Support (Limited)
    • Support senior engineers with construction-stage documentation and technical queries.
    • Assist in preparing site inspection records and technical reports where required.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience required across:
    • Foundational knowledge of Data Centre and mission-critical electrical systems.
    • Basic understanding of resilience and redundancy concepts (N+1, 2N).
    • LV/MV distribution, standby power and UPS system fundamentals.
    • Familiarity with CAD / BIM design tools used in electrical engineering.
    • Aware of UK electrical standards (BS 7671) and Building Regulations relevant to data centre facilities.

Qualifications & Education:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (accredited university).

Experience:

  • 0 - 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Exposure to or strong interest in Data Centre / mission-critical projects.
  • Experience with design software and engineering calculation tools is an advantage.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Working towards Incorporated / Chartered Engineer status (IET) or equivalent accreditation.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and coordination skills within a project team.
  • Interest in developing a career within data centre engineering.
