Working for a global, unionised manufacturing/engineering business, the Strategic Business Partner role is based at their Coventry site, with travel to multiple sites within commutable distance. The opportunity truly influences business outcomes while partnering with senior leaders to drive performance, engagement, and positive change.
The Role
As one of two Strategic HR Business Partners, you’ll provide expert support across a diverse, multi-site operation. From colleague engagement and performance improvement to succession planning and employee relations, you'll be a trusted advisor delivering tangible business impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with leadership to deliver effective HR solutions and guidance across a range of strategic and operational matters.
- Drive performance management, employee engagement, and development strategies.
- Provide expert support on complex employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence and change management.
- Lead or support consultation processes (e.g. redundancies, TUPE) and contribute to project work across the business.
- Union negotiations and consultations.
- Use data and insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Ensure best practice is embedded in HR policies, procedures, and communications.
- Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team on resourcing activities.
Key Background:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in HR or a related field.
- CIPD Qualified (ideal, not essential).
- Proven HR experience in a strategic and operational role, ideally within a unionised environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex ER issues, including TUPE, restructures and legal processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Confidence to work autonomously, prioritise effectively and deliver at pace.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
