Contract: Open to discussion, including an initial fixed-term appointment with the potential to become permanent
Resourcing4HR is delighted to be partnering with a fast-paced, growing organisation to recruit a Head of People Experience.
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, this is an influential People leadership role combining operational excellence, senior business partnering and the leadership and development of an established People team.
The organisation has experienced significant growth, acquisition activity and change. It is looking for an experienced People leader who can strengthen the operational People service, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and ensure the function remains responsive to the changing needs of the business.
This is not a purely strategic or hands-off leadership position. The successful person will be comfortable operating at senior level while remaining closely connected to day-to-day delivery, including complex employee relations, organisational change and manager capability.
The role:
Leading a team of approximately five People professionals, you will:
- Lead, coach and develop the People Experience team, creating a supportive, collaborative and high-performing environment
- Provide trusted, commercially focused People advice to senior leaders
- Act as a senior technical point of guidance across complex employee relations and employment law matters
- Ensure People services are delivered consistently, efficiently and in line with current legislation
- Support organisational change, restructuring and integration activity
- Lead workforce planning, organisational design and succession planning initiatives
- Strengthen manager capability through practical coaching, guidance and development
- Use workforce data and insight to identify trends, support decisions and measure impact
- Work closely with Talent and Learning and Development colleagues to deliver joined-up People solutions
- Promote positive employee relations, wellbeing, engagement and an excellent employee experience
- Remain hands-on when required, personally supporting complex casework, investigations and business-critical activity
- Support the Chief People Officer in developing the longer-term capability and structure of the People function
About you:
We are looking for an experienced and credible People leader who combines strong technical knowledge with a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.
You will ideally bring:
- Significant experience leading and developing an HR or People team
- A strong background in operational HR and senior-level business partnering
- In-depth employee relations and UK employment law expertise
- Experience of organisational change, restructuring, workforce planning and organisational design
- The ability to work strategically while remaining visible and hands-on
- Excellent stakeholder management, coaching and influencing skills
- The confidence to operate in a fast-moving organisation where priorities can change quickly
- A collaborative, low-ego leadership style with a genuine commitment to collective success
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to anticipate the wider impact of People decisions
- Chartered CIPD membership at Level 7, or equivalent experience
