This long-established independent garage in the Edinburgh area is entering an exciting new chapter under new ownership. Significant investment is already underway, including plans to double the size of the workshop, expand the customer base, and build a highly skilled technical team. With two experienced mechanics currently on the team, we are now looking for a talented Vehicle Technician who wants to join a hands-on, ambitious, and fast-growing environment. The Role
As a Vehicle Technician, you’ll carry out a wide range of diagnostic, repair, and maintenance work on all makes and models. You’ll play a key role in the workshop’s development as capacity increases and new equipment and training are introduced.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs to a high standard
- Carry out routine servicing, MOT preparation, and general maintenance
- Undertake electrical and mechanical work across a variety of vehicles
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues efficiently
- Maintain accurate job records and uphold workshop quality standards
- Support the wider team as the workshop grows
- Contribute to a positive, customer-focused environment
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Vehicle Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Experience in an independent garage or dealership setting
- Ability to work independently and within a small, close-knit team
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- Full UK driving licence
