This is a hands-on leadership role, leading QA across all shifts and ensuring food safety, legality, and quality risks are identified, challenged, and controlled in real time. You’ll drive robust investigations, effective CAPA, and lasting improvement — not just compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and line manage QA Supervisors (AM / PM) and the Technical & QA Co-ordinator
- Set and drive clear QA priorities aligned to site risk
- Ensure consistent, independent QA coverage across all shifts
- Coach QA teams in confident decision-making, behavioural challenge, and escalation
- Own HACCP, CCP monitoring, allergen controls, GMP, hygiene, and raw material verification
- Own environmental monitoring and hygiene verification programmes
- Lead high-quality investigations into CCP deviations, GMP failures, complaints, and OOS results
- Ensure root cause analysis is evidence-based and system-focused
- Own internal audit delivery and effectiveness
- Use QA data to identify trends, recurring issues, and emerging risks
- Act as senior technical escalation point and deputise for the Technical Manager when required

- Experienced QA or Technical Manager within food manufacturing
- Strong HACCP, CCP, GMP, hygiene, and allergen control knowledge
- Confident leader who can challenge at all levels
- Strong investigation and problem-solving capability
- Driven to improve standards and build strong QA teams
