Timber Frame Designer required to join main contractor based in the Chichester area. The Timber Frame Designer will ideally have worked for a contractor with knowledge of timber frame design, technology / building and built environment and wider aspects of design. The Timber Frame Designer will ideally be degree qualified with timber frame design experience.
The Timber Frame Designer duties will be but not limited to:
- Creating building designs and highly detailed drawings both by hand and by using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacture (CAM) applications.
- Working with internal and external design teams.
- Ensuring timber frame drawings and designs are produced on time, to a high quality, and are easy to decipher.
- Overseeing the design process using technical expertise.
- Reviewing designs with health and safety in mind.
- Maintaining thorough documentation of the design process.
- Keeping up to date with changing building legislation and codes of practice relating to design.
- Working closely with a team of other professionals such as building service engineers, construction managers, quantity surveyors, architects, architectural technologists and structural engineers.
