About the Role
Great British Energy is looking for a Supply Chain Investment Lead to join our Supply Chain Team. This role will play a key part in contributing to projects, objectives, and wider organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage delivery and project management of supply chain investments.
- Lead engagement with companies to screen initial investment propositions.
- Support commercial negotiations and lead on the production of supporting materials to drive the decision-making process through GBE and government - including DESNZ and HMT.
- Engage across the DESNZ, GBE and public financing ecosystem to develop relationships and identify investment opportunities.
- Prepare briefings, analysis, and documentation for senior leaders.
- Engage and coordinate with stakeholders across government and industry.
- Support on the design of the Investment fund and wider strategy for GBE's supply chain team.
- Lead discrete workstreams and potential line management of Band B Investment Support Officers.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Experience delivering commercial agreements with the private sector.
- Experience in structuring and managing investments or other financial transactions, for example within but not limited to equity investments, concessional finance or debt financing.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Confidence managing stakeholders and multiple priorities.
- Good team-working and leadership potential.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of UK energy sector or supply chain investment.
- Familiarity with legal or financial documents, experience of commercial negotiations, or leading/managing due diligence or valuations.
- Experience of financial modelling, either building or analysing models to assess investment scenarios.
- Experience supporting or managing staff.
- Aware of industrial strategy or net zero policy.
- Recognised financial qualifications, e.g. CFA or equivalent experience.
