We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Assistant General Manager to help drive performance, maximise occupancy, and deliver an outstanding customer experience.

As Assistant General Manager, you'll support the running of a busy self-storage site—playing a key role in driving unit sales, maintaining high facility standards, and leading a small team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position where you'll be managing enquiries, converting leads into rentals, and ensuring the site operates efficiently, securely, and in line with brand standards.

  • Support the General Manager in leading and developing a small, high-performing team
  • Lead by example on the front line, setting standards for sales and service
  • Step up to manage the site in the General Manager's absence
  • Drive unit rentals by converting enquiries into move-ins
  • Monitor performance against KPIs and targets

Customer Experience

  • Deliver a friendly, professional service to all customers—face-to-face, phone, and email
  • Support customers through their storage journey, from enquiry to move-out
  • Ensure units, reception, and external areas are clean, secure, and well-presented
  • Manage move-ins, move-outs, and account management
  • Carry out regular checks of the facility and report any issues promptly
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales performance and operational efficiency
  • Support local marketing initiatives and community engagement

Experience

  • Experience in a supervisory or management role (retail, hospitality, or storage ideal)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive attitude

£28,980 basic salary + performance bonus
