Job Description
Our Client are a privately owned national contractor operating in a wide range of sectors including commercial, retail, residential, leisure and healthcare. The South West Division have already secured their budgeted pipeline for the next two years and are thus looking for a number of experienced professionals to join their rapidly expanding team.
Options Resourcing have been retained to assist with the recruitment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead to work on projects in the Bristol area.
The successful candidate must have experience of working on student accommodation and/or residential projects and be qualified to HND or Degree level. Managing all commercial and financial aspects of our client's high profile contract, you will be responsible for the commercial team to ensure effective cost control, value for money from the supply and sub-contract chain and timely delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all cost management aspects of the project, from inception to completion.
- Prepare, analyse, and review cost estimates, budgets, and tender / pre construction documentation.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide strategic advice to minimize project risks.
- Negotiate contracts, manage procurement processes, and oversee supplier and subcontractor agreements.
- Monitor project progress, prepare valuations, and handle interim and final accounts.
- Lead and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, ensuring high-quality delivery and professional development.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control processes, and procurement strategies.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proven, demonstrable ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in relevant software tools
