Our highly successful client is expanding and is seeking an experienced Door Engineer to join their busy, growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a respected organisation that delivers high-quality services across schools, offices, corporate buildings, and other public and commercial environments.
As a Door Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, effective and professional installation and maintenance of a wide range of door systems. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Carrying out repairs, servicing and full installations on roller shutters, industrial doors, automatic doors, sectional doors, glazing systems and related equipment.
- Conducting fault finding, diagnostics and preventative maintenance to keep systems operating reliably.
- Working on a variety of prestigious commercial, industrial and public sector contracts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and site requirements.
- Keeping accurate service records, completing job sheets and ensuring work is delivered to a high standard.
- Providing excellent customer service and representing the company professionally on every site visit.
The person:
- We are looking for someone who brings strong technical ability, reliability and a positive, customer-focused attitude.
- Industry experience is essential - previous work with industrial doors, roller shutters, automatic doors, or similar mechanical/metalwork trades (e.g., toolmaking) is highly beneficial.
- Confident working with heavy-duty equipment and able to safely assist with lifting large door systems.
- Solid practical knowledge of different door types and mechanisms.
- Electrical skills or basic wiring knowledge would be a strong advantage, but are not essential.
- A professional approach with the ability to communicate clearly and provide a positive client experience on-site.
- Strong IT skills.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence.
- A valid CSCS card is essential.
