Salary: £13.50 per hour plus £0.50 per hour performance and attendance bonus

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Role Overview

We are looking for a Quality Assistant to join a fabulous family-run business in Long Buckby. This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting out in quality, food production, or manufacturing who wants to build hands-on experience across operations, laboratory testing, and administration. You will support the Product Quality team with day-to-day tasks, helping ensure that products meet quality, safety, and compliance standards while gaining valuable exposure to multiple areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weighbridge & Site Support
    • Assist with weighing vehicles in and out on the weighbridge
    • Help check and complete basic paperwork for incoming and outgoing loads
    • Support communication between drivers, production staff, and office teams
    • Ensure records are accurate and up to date
  • Laboratory & Quality Support
    • Assist with sampling of raw materials and finished products
    • Carry out basic quality checks following training
    • Help maintain cleanliness and organisation of the lab
    • Record test results and update internal systems
    • Support stock checks and ordering of lab supplies
  • Administration & Coordination
    • Help prepare documentation and product certificates
    • Support the quality team with general admin tasks
    • Assist with filing, data entry, and record keeping
    • Provide occasional reception cover when required
