The QHSE Manager will fulfil a key role within the organisation and be responsible for ensuring all aspects of the companys operations meet regulatory standards and quality benchmarks. In addition, it will be essential to ensure safe operations across the company, along with driving the organisations approach to continuous business improvement and striving for zero accidents. Key Responsibilities: Quality -Ensure compliance with and development of the in-house HACCP plan-Ensure the COSHH system is effectively maintained-Ensure Quality Systems are up to date, well-maintained and new initiatives, measures and improvements are identified and effectively implemented-Identify gaps and implement new quality procedures where necessary, in conjunction with the management team and operating staff-Maintain and improve the NCR process across the business-Encourage employee engagement in all quality-related business issues Health & Safety -Responsibility for H&S compliance at the sites-Provide regular support and guidance on all safety related matters-Ensure H&S Risk Assessments are up to date, effective and well maintained-Stay up to date of changes in regulations and respond to their requirements-Identify gaps and develop solutions to ensure H&S compliance-Encourage employee engagement with all H&S related business issues You will also maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and external awarding bodies. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven individual to develop their career and improve the existing Quality and Safety Management Systems across the various business sections. The job holder will undertake systematic auditing of operations and processes and as a consequence recommend and implement on-going continuous improvement activity across all sites. The job holder will be required to build on-going support with all departmental heads, so there is a cohesive approach to all operational activity. The individual will be someone who will act as a champion for quality and compliance throughout the organisation. Key personal attributes will include: -An experienced or partly experienced Quality System Leader with the working knowledge of managing a quality management system (QMS)-Familiarity with industry-specific standards such as ISO9001-An open and approachable personality who is positive, motivated and a determined self-starter that can work on their own initiative.-Systems driven with experience of Microsoft IT packages-Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver effective presentations.-Excellent reporting skills and ability to manage meetings-A flexible approach to working hours, in order to help review, support and meet the needs of the various shift patterns and business functions-A full driving licence with the willingness to undertake travel to other sites-An individual keen to develop their own professional career to the next level-Adaptability ability to flexibly respond to the needs of the business in the areas of quality and Health & Safety-Attention to detail, with ability to focus on all areas of a given task or project Essential: Managing Quality Management Systems, setting up and maintaining effective controls and documentation management proceduresEnsuring the implementation of agreed corrective actionsProven track record as a Quality Improvement LeaderAbility to deal with a range of customer queries in a timely mannerAgreeing standards of performance and establishing clearly defined quality methods, for staff to apply operationallyCollating and analysing performance data and charts against defined KPIsGood reporting and communication skills to monitor progress Desirable (Not Essential): -A Lead Auditor Qualification is desirable-Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety-Understanding of BRCGS and the common range of other quality standards-An understanding of root cause analysis and trend analysis-Some practical experience of H&S Management is preferable-Evaluation and monitoring of on-going COSHH requirements-An IOSH Managing Safely Qualification is desirable-Experience in managing a range of Risk Assessments within a business You will ideally be a strong leader with the ability to influence people positively at all levels. You will have effective and positive interaction and engagement with both internal and external customers, and maintain a team ethic. Clearly identified learning and development activities will be provided as support, to increase the individual skill set and capabilities across the key business areas.
