Are you ready to step into a leadership role within a fast-growing self-storage business? We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Assistant General Manager to help drive performance, maximise occupancy, and deliver an outstanding customer experience.
The Role
As Assistant General Manager, you'll support the running of a busy self-storage site—playing a key role in driving unit sales, maintaining high facility standards, and leading a small team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position where you'll be managing enquiries, converting leads into rentals, and ensuring the site operates efficiently, securely, and in line with brand standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Team Leadership
- Support the General Manager in leading and developing a small, high-performing team
- Lead by example on the front line, setting standards for sales and service
- Step up to manage the site in the General Manager's absence
- Sales & Occupancy
- Drive unit rentals by converting enquiries into move-ins
- Maximise occupancy and revenue through effective upselling and pricing awareness
- Monitor performance against KPIs and targets
- Customer Experience
- Deliver a friendly, professional service to all customers—face-to-face, phone, and email
- Support customers through their storage journey, from enquiry to move-out
- Resolve any issues quickly to maintain high satisfaction levels
- Site Operations
- Oversee daily site operations including admin, audits, and reporting
- Ensure units, reception, and external areas are clean, secure, and well-presented
- Manage move-ins, move-outs, and account management
- Security & Compliance
- Maintain strong security standards across the site
- Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times
- Carry out regular checks of the facility and report any issues promptly
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve sales performance and operational efficiency
- Support local marketing initiatives and community engagement
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a supervisory or management role (retail, hospitality, or storage ideal)
- Strong sales mindset with a focus on hitting and exceeding targets
