An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well-established Design & Build, Construction and Fit-Out contractor delivering high-quality projects across Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties. Operating across the commercial, industrial and specialist sectors, our client has built an outstanding reputation for delivering technically challenging refurbishment and fit-out projects. Their portfolio includes commercial office refurbishments, industrial facilities, education projects, manufacturing environments and highly specialised laboratory developments. With a growing presence in the Life Sciences sector, the business is currently delivering the development and fit-out of state-of-the-art laboratories, providing an excellent opportunity to work on some of the region's most technically demanding and rewarding projects. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to appoint a Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects across Oxfordshire.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of 2-3 live projects at any one time, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Projects will include commercial refurbishments, fit-outs and specialist laboratory developments, requiring close collaboration with clients, consultants and site teams throughout each stage of delivery.
Responsibilities
- Managing 2-3 refurbishment, fit-out and laboratory projects simultaneously.
- Leading and supporting Site Managers and project delivery teams.
- Monitoring project programmes, budgets and overall performance.
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.
- Managing client relationships and attending regular progress meetings.
- Coordinating with consultants, architects and design teams.
- Overseeing subcontractor performance and programme delivery.
- Promoting and maintaining exceptional Health & Safety standards across all projects.
- Providing regular progress updates to the senior management team.
About You
- Previous experience working as a Contracts Manager within a main contractor environment.
- Proven experience delivering commercial refurbishment and fit-out projects.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- Excellent client-facing ability with a collaborative approach.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
- Experience delivering laboratories, life science facilities, cleanrooms, healthcare environments or other technically complex projects would be advantageous, although not essential.
