Due to continued investment in systems, infrastructure, and digital capability, they are seeking an experienced IT Manager to take ownership of the organisation's IT environment and play a key role in shaping future IT strategy. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for ensuring all systems are secure, stable, and aligned with business requirements, while driving continuous improvement across the IT function.
What's involved for the IT Manager
- Oversee and manage IT infrastructure including servers, networks, hardware and software
- Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and meet business operational needs
- Manage IT upgrades, maintenance schedules, and system performance
- Implement and maintain cyber security controls, backups, and disaster recovery processes
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal IT policies
- Contribute to IT strategy and roadmap development
- Identify and implement improvements, automation, and new technologies
- Manage external IT suppliers and third-party service providers
- Support IT budgeting, forecasting, and procurement activities
- Provide technical support and leadership across the business
- Manage and deliver IT projects from initiation through to completion
What you'll need
- 5+ years experience in IT operations
- Previous experience in an IT Manager or senior infrastructure role is essential
- Strong knowledge of Windows environments, networking, and IT infrastructure
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS desirable)
- Strong understanding of IT security, backup, and disaster recovery principles
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Sage 500 experience desirable but not essential
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of IT operations
- ITIL, MCSE, CISSP, or similar certifications advantageous
Benefits for IT Manager
