What's involved for the IT Manager

  • Oversee and manage IT infrastructure including servers, networks, hardware and software
  • Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and meet business operational needs
  • Manage IT upgrades, maintenance schedules, and system performance
  • Implement and maintain cyber security controls, backups, and disaster recovery processes
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal IT policies
  • Contribute to IT strategy and roadmap development
  • Identify and implement improvements, automation, and new technologies
  • Manage external IT suppliers and third-party service providers
  • Support IT budgeting, forecasting, and procurement activities
  • Provide technical support and leadership across the business
  • Manage and deliver IT projects from initiation through to completion

What you'll need

  • 5+ years experience in IT operations
  • Previous experience in an IT Manager or senior infrastructure role is essential
  • Strong knowledge of Windows environments, networking, and IT infrastructure
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS desirable)
  • Strong understanding of IT security, backup, and disaster recovery principles
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Sage 500 experience desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of IT operations
  • ITIL, MCSE, CISSP, or similar certifications advantageous
