On behalf of Maritime Management Organisation (MMO), we are looking for an IT Service Manager (Inside IR35) for a 9 month contract based in Newcastle (2-3 days per week on site). As an IT Service Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Work closely with business specialists/service designers to translate business requirements and user needs into new services/products or enhancements to existing services and user experience.
  • Create and manage service/product backlogs, prioritising effectively in conjunction with key stakeholders against a wide range of factors, whilst actively leading supplier delivery.
  • Agree and manage user story sign off, including prioritisation for sprint planning.
  • Create and maintain strong and effective stakeholder engagement with a range of business and programme partners.
  • Analyse end to end digital user journeys using evidence and analytics, ensuring user researcher findings are captured and reviewed against the user experience design.
  • Create multi-channel support models for services working with wider delivery partners.
  • Proactively identify problems and issues that may affect the successful adoption of the service.
  • Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure that the team's plans and objectives are achieved.
  • Gather and analyse data on costs, benefits and service performance to inform and drive continuous improvement.
  • Understand the holistic picture of MMO service delivery and technical plans to ensure cross service impacting and analysis occurs.
  • Communicate credibly with a wide range of digital delivery partners both internally and externally.

Essential:

  • An awareness of Agile methodology/ways of working.
  • Ability to proactively and effectively collaborate with all members of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to clearly communicate at all levels, translating technical information for non-technical audiences.
  • Being able to focus on internal/external user needs to deliver and continuously improve user centric services.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into user stories, including clear acceptance criteria to ensure agreed delivery conditions are met.
  • Being able to quickly problem solve or change priorities in partnership with stakeholders, using a wide spectrum of data and analytics to inform and present options.
  • Ability to plan and monitor IT partner/supplier delivery.
  • Being able to partner our testing team, to plan and oversee all aspects of testing and defect management to assure planned releases and deployments.
