Role Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and technically skilled Tier 3 Mobile Water Treatment Engineer to join our Northern regional team. This role will support the delivery of water hygiene and treatment services across multiple commercial sites, ensuring compliance with ACoP L8, HSG274, and internal company standards.
The ideal candidate will be based along the M62 corridor (Huddersfield preferred) to provide balanced regional coverage. You will perform routine water treatment tasks, sampling, temperature monitoring, tank inspections, and basic remedial work under supervision or in collaboration with Tier 2 and Tier 1 Engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine L8 water hygiene tasks, including temperature checks, tank inspections, and flushing regimes.
Take water samples from various systems (e.g., cooling towers, calorifiers, domestic systems) and deliver to lab as required.
Complete site logbooks and reports accurately and on time, ensuring all documentation is compliant.
Perform basic chemical dosing and cleaning of water systems under guidance or following training.
Support Tier 2 and Tier 1 Engineers on complex tasks such as system chlorinations, risk assessments, and remedial works.
Escalate issues or non-conformances to senior engineers or the management team.
Ensure safe working practices in line with COSHH, Legionella Control, and company health & safety policies.
Use handheld or digital tools (e.g., PDA/tablet) to manage workload and reporting.
Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally on client sites.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Experience in a water hygiene or water treatment role (1-2 years minimum).
Familiarity with ACoP L8 and HSG274 Part 2 requirements.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites daily.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Basic understanding of building water systems (hot/cold water systems, tanks, calorifiers, etc.).
Ability to work independently and follow task schedules.
Desirable:
City & Guilds / BPEC in Water Treatment or Legionella Awareness.
Experience using digital reporting tools or CAFM systems.
Knowledge of cooling towers, closed systems, or TMV servicing.
Plumbing or mechanical background (Level 2 NVQ or similar).
Location & Travel:
Ideal base location: Huddersfield or surrounding areas along the M62 corridor
Travel required across the North West and North East, covering sites between Manchester and Leeds/Sheffield
