Job Description Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer Welding & Fabrication Focus \n Location: Long Buckby Salary: £18.00-£23.00 per hour DOE Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-6:00pm Job Type: Permanent \n Are you a Maintenance Engineer who is as comfortable with a welder as you are with a spanner? \n We're looking for a practical, hands-on Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established business operating within the agricultural production sector. \n This is a varied engineering role with a strong focus on welding and fabrication. You'll spend around half your time in the workshop, fabricating, modifying and repairing components, and the other half working within production on machinery installation, breakdowns and maintenance. \30% - Welding, fabrication and modification\n \n30% - Breakdown maintenance and fault finding\n \n30% - New machinery installation and commissioning\n \n10% - Planned/preventative maintenance\n \n You'll work approximately 50% in the workshop and 50% within the production environment. \n Welding & Fabrication \n A significant part of the role will involve fabricating and modifying components and equipment, so we're particularly interested in engineers with good practical welding and fabrication skills. \MIG welding equipment\n \nDrills\n \nLathes\n \nGuillotines\n \nGeneral workshop machinery\n \nCutting and fabrication equipment\n \nHand and power tools\n \n You'll then use the components you've fabricated when carrying out installation, modification and maintenance work within production. \n What You'll Be Working On \n The business operates a range of agricultural and production machinery, so you'll encounter equipment including: Conveyors\n \nElevators\n \nAugers\n \nMechanical handling equipment\n \nProduction machinery\n \nGeneral industrial plant\n \n One minute you could be responding to a machinery breakdown, the next fabricating a replacement component in the workshop before installing it back into production. \n What We're Looking For \n We're looking for someone with a genuine hands-on engineering background who enjoys solving problems and isn't afraid to get stuck in. \n Ideally, you'll have experience in: MIG welding - important\n \nFabrication and metalwork\n \nMechanical fault finding and repair\n \nMachinery installation and commissioning\n \nPreventative maintenance\n \nComponent modification\n \nGeneral workshop machinery\n \nWorking safely around production equipment\n \n TIG or other welding experience would be an advantage but isn't essential. \n Experience within agriculture, manufacturing, food production, engineering or a similar industrial environment would be particularly useful. \n The Person \n This isn't a role for someone who wants to simply complete a maintenance checklist and wait for the next job. \Mechanically minded and technically capable\n \nA confident MIG welder/fabricator\n \nStrong at fault finding and problem solving\n \nComfortable working independently\n \nConfident using workshop machinery\n \nAble to fabricate, modify and repair equipment\n \nPractical and resourceful\n \nHappy working in a workshop and production environment\n \nA genuine \"can-do\" person\n \nComfortable getting their hands dirty\n \nAdaptable and willing to tackle different challenges\n \n Why Join? \n You'll have the opportunity to use your engineering skills across welding, fabrication, mechanical maintenance, machinery installation, fault finding and preventative maintenance, with plenty of scope to make a real contribution. \n If you're a hands-on engineer who enjoys welding, fabrication and fixing things properly, we'd like to hear from you. \
