Role: Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £44,000 - £46,000 per annum, plus overtime (paid at x1.5 & x2.0) and opportunities
Hours: 4 on 4 off, 6am till 6pm Permanent Days
Location: Commutable from Crawley, Horsham, Worthing, Southwater, East Grinstead, Ashington, Shoreham, Haywards Heath, and surrounding areas
Company: We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work in a large and fast moving manufacturing factory. It is a Permanent 'Day Shift' Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Maintenance Engineer position and therefore require someone who is comfortable and happy to work this shift pattern.
Responsibilities:
- You will be working in a small team of engineers covering mechanical maintenance and fitting work across all plant and machinery through fault finding, planned maintenance, shut downs and project work.
- Working in a dedicated mechanical team, responsible for all mechanics across the factory.
- Identification of solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support the handover of work to the opposite shift and ensure works are logged and recorded.
- To work safely at all times and follow safe systems of work.
- To be actively involved in the TPM improvement process.
- To work tidily and make a positive contribution to the 5S system.
- The role is biased to reactive maintenance, dealing with breakdowns and machinery problems.
Requirements:
- Mechanically trained and qualified either through an Apprenticeship or hold mechanical engineering qualifications.
- Mechanical background in a similar environment, in industrial or production or manufacturing environment.
- Some welding experience is desirable but not essential - mig and/or stick.
- Your job titles may include Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Mechanical Technician.
- We are looking for someone who has SOME of the following mechanical experience; gear boxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, motors, belts, bearings, chains, pumps, welding, fault finding and repairs.
- Friendly and adaptable working attitude, with the hunger to learn and progress.
- Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in.
