We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Management Accountant to join this growing distribution business. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, providing commercial insights, and supporting operational decision-making across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment and enjoys partnering with operational teams to drive performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Produce profit and loss statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Analyse financial performance, margins, and operational costs across the distribution network.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis with commentary.
  • Support stock valuation and inventory reporting.
  • Monitor KPIs and provide meaningful business analysis to senior management.
  • Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting.
  • Support strategic business projects and provide financial modelling where required.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

About You

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant role.
  • Experience within distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain environments would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Commercially minded with a proactive approach.
