Contract Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Location: Mon-Thurs in Leicester HQ (Friday wfh) | Contract: 3 months | Rate: £300/day, Inside IR35 Our client, a well-established organisation undergoing an Azure transformation, is looking for a Contract Senior Infrastructure Engineer to provide hands-on support during a critical migration phase. This is a senior, technical role for someone who has genuinely done Azure migrations before, not just administered an existing environment. Role Summary You'll play an active part in assessing on-premises workloads and planning, testing and supporting their migration into Azure or SaaS, alongside maintaining the current infrastructure estate. You'll act as a senior technical escalation point, support junior colleagues, and ensure documentation and handovers are done properly. Key Responsibilities Support hands-on Azure migration activity: landing zones, subscriptions, resource groups, VNets, subnets, NSGs, hybrid connectivity and Azure VMs Assess on-premises workloads and plan, test and support their migration into Azure or SaaS Maintain and support the Windows Server estate, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP Support VMware or Hyper-V virtualisation and core networking infrastructure Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and endpoint management Apply infrastructure and cloud security controls in day-to-day work Provide senior technical escalation for complex incidents and operational issues Coach and support junior colleagues, producing clear documentation and handovers Work within a small IT team, following an agreed technical direction Essential Skills
