Shift: Monday to Friday 42.5 hrs per week

Role Summary: Established in 1985, a superb family-run business whereby everyone feels valued and supported. Employing approx. 45 staff, our progressive client is seeking to recruit an outstanding individual who will play a pivotal role in managing quality, audits, compliance, internal and external clients, suppliers, and staff from a coaching/educating perspective. This role may suit someone seeking their next career move in terms of advancement or an experienced QC Manager seeking their next challenge.

Specific duties of the role:

  • To ensure all products comply with food & feed safety, quality and legality requirements and ensure all staff comply with food & feed safety, quality and legality procedures and policies.
  • Ensure that Weekly/Monthly audits are carried out and review records generated by Supervisory, Team Leaders and Production line staff, and verify against company best practice.
  • Complete ad-hoc Quality reports and summaries when required.
  • Control of the quality manual: Updating, maintaining and ensuring company compliance with current legislation/customer/governing body standards.
  • Control of documents: Updating and maintaining company documents. Updating and maintaining records/forms and ensuring correct usage.
  • Customer focus: monitoring of requirements and needs of customers. Authorization of specific individual requirements.
  • Liaising and Planning of quality procedures, policies and work instructions: Creating, maintaining and assisting in the production and amendment of procedures, policies and work instructions.
  • Ensure competence, awareness, and training. Ensure all staff have the correct training for their specific job and provided with relevant P.P.E.
  • Communication with Customers: Monitoring and measurement of customer satisfaction and complaints. Identify trends and patterns and use them for continuous improvement.
  • Manage the External audits (BRC, ORGANIC, TASCC, UFAS). Maintain standards, identifying areas of non-conformity and advising where necessary of changes that need to be made.
  • Ensure Internal Audits are carried out to schedule.
  • Ensure that Control of non-conforming product and service: Inspect returned parts. Quarantine infected stock.
  • Communication of Corrective and preventive actions: Investigate customer complaints where requested. Supply reasons why errors occurred and identify and put in place actions to ensure these do not reoccur.
  • Control of internal and external standards: Maintain and issue appropriate standards to required departments.
  • Dealing with customers and suppliers: Communicate via e-mail and telephone or if appropriate in person with quality personnel from various suppliers and customers.
  • Responsible for the Pest Control Management on Site liaising with Site Manager and Managing Director to set up pest control contracts and ensure overall management of the contract.
  • Ensure that the management of Mycotoxins testing is carried out correctly and according to specified guidelines.
  • Monitor/completion of maintenance inspection reports.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety Regulations in accordance with the Health & Safety Act 1999.
