On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Conformance Engineer for a 6 month contract based REMOTELY with some potential site visits.

As a Conformance Engineer, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Carry out the conformance assessment of new or modified RAIL infrastructure, RAIL vehicles, load units and associated equipment with mandatory standards and deliver associated safety management activities.
- Assess the conformance of designs for new or modified infrastructure, RAIL vehicles, load units and associated equipment against mandatory requirements and prepare assessment reports and certification.
- Carry out audits of clients as part of providing assurance or certification of their activities, and view changes to standards as directed and produce guidance documents on conformance assessment and associated activities.
- Assess amended or new maintenance plans to confirm whether they will, if adhered to, keep the subsystem compliant with mandatory requirements for their whole life along with checking the construction of RAIL vehicles, load units, infrastructure subsystems and associated equipment for conformance with the accepted design, including witnessing testing.
- Provide advice to customers and stakeholders on conformance assessment, certification and associated regulations (such as Interoperability, Common Safety Methods and Entities in Charge of Maintenance) and carry out technical investigations, as required, checking that they do not compromise certification independence.
Essential:
- University degree in Engineering.
- Substantial experience of working within an engineering discipline (Rail).
- Substantial experience in leading audits and/or safety assurance works (Rail vehicles).
- Experience in the management of certification.
- Experience in customer facing roles.
- Experience working with railway regulations, especially Common Safety Methods and Interoperability legislation.
