This is a critical hire for a growing business that's midway through a major digital transformation. They are modernising core systems, migrating from on-prem to cloud, and rebuilding their architecture from the ground up with Microsoft tools at the centre. This isn't a role for someone who just wants to write strategy but for an individual who also wants to deliver it. They are looking for someone who's as comfortable getting hands-on with solutions as they are presenting strategy at leadership level. You'll act as a technical lead, a mentor, and a trusted advisor across the organisation. Applications, integrations, and data are at the heart of the challenge and the business needs someone who can own and deliver that blueprint and roll up their sleeves when need be. Ambitious, engaging and somebody who inspires.

What's in it for you?

  • Salary circa £100k+, plus bonus and full benefits package
  • Key leadership role in an organisation undergoing major transformation
  • High visibility direct reporting line into the CTO and a place on the leadership team
  • Influence across architecture strategy, delivery, and people development
  • Flexibility with hybrid working (2 days onsite in central Edinburgh)
  • Opportunity to lead app and integration strategy using modern Microsoft tech stack
  • A path toward future CTO-level impact in a business that values innovation over bureaucracy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the enterprise architecture across applications and data
  • Design and deliver modern, scalable integration strategies
  • Support the ongoing ERP cloud migration and broader app modernisation
  • Work closely with a 50-strong technology team, coaching and mentoring where needed
  • Guide decision-making on low-code and SaaS platforms including PowerApps, CoPilot, Fabric and Salesforce
  • Collaborate closely with business leaders and stakeholders to align architecture with real-world goals
  • Take an active role in delivery, not just governance - be a strategic doer, not a bystander

The Environment:

  • Microsoft-centric tech stack (Azure, Dynamics, Power Platform, Fabric)
  • Salesforce and wider SaaS tool integrations
  • Applications and integrations are a key focus, with cloud migration underway
  • No rigid frameworks - this is about practical outcomes, not purely theoretical models
  • Transformation is active and ongoing - the blueprint is yours to shape

About You:

  • Proven experience in a senior architecture or technology leadership role
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment with multiple legacy and modern systems
  • Hands-on technical depth in applications, integration, and cloud platforms
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies and low-code tools
  • Excellent communicator and team leader - you can influence up, down, and across
  • Experience mentoring or line-managing technical professionals
  • Pragmatic, outcome-focused and comfortable working without heavy governance
