Frontier Resourcing are supporting a global aerospace and defence organisation in the search for an experienced Electronics Test Technician to join their team near Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly advanced manufacturing and engineering environment, supporting the testing, diagnostics, and repair of complex electronic systems used in cutting-edge aerospace applications.
Working on a rotating shift basis, you will be responsible for the functional testing, tuning, fault diagnosis, and repair of electronic assemblies and products, while supporting continuous improvement across the test environment.
The Role- Perform functional testing of electronic assemblies to contractual, quality, and schedule requirements
- Carry out diagnostics and fault-finding to component level on production and repair units
- Recommend and support corrective actions on failed products
- Diagnose faults associated with automated and manual test equipment
- Execute preventative maintenance and calibration activities for test equipment
- Maintain accurate test documentation, yield data, and failure reporting
- Support continuous improvement activities to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost performance within the test environment
- Work collaboratively with wider engineering and production teams
- Minimum HNC in Electronics or equivalent hands-on industry experience
- Experience testing and diagnosing complex electronic products down to component level
- Ability to tune circuitry to achieve performance specifications
- Proven experience using laboratory and production test equipment, including complex instrumentation
- Strong understanding of electronic principles and circuitry, both theoretical and practical
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams effectively
- Experience interpreting test specifications and carrying out manual production test and debug activities
- Understanding of RF circuitry principles and associated controls
- Experience working with Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
