Key Responsibilities
- Development of new hardware:
- Participate in development of new hardware according to established processes in the R&D department, including architecture, component selection, schematics, layout, production documentation, test procedures etc.
- Create and maintain documentation of designs during development.
- Work on projects with other R&D team members to develop new products within the company’s portfolio.
- Within projects:
- Study relevant technologies, solutions, and functionalities, as required by project documents in study reports.
- Prototype bring-up and verification.
- Carry out EMC and environmental testing according to the needs of the project and the product's intended area of application.
- Document design (simulations, calculations, EMC scans, measurement results etc.) according to current company procedures.
- Generate and archive documentation for production according to current company procedures.
- Follow up with manufacturers during the NPI process.
- Test and verify pilot series.
- Maintenance of existing products:
- Assist manufacturers with questions regarding products and components.
- Analyse returned products to reveal possible design weaknesses.
- Perform engineering change orders according to ECO procedure.
- Ensure that production documentation is up to date in the ERP system (or equivalent).
- General:
- Stay up to date on development procedures in R&D.
- Stay up to date on development in relevant technology and components.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Hardware development (embedded systems, DSP, analogue and digital audio systems).
- Hardware testing.
- Experience using CADSTAR and/or Altium is advantageous.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
Education / Experience
- Degree level qualification in Electronic Engineering.
- Vocational and work-based learning also welcomed.
