A well-established and highly respected residential developer is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join their production team, supporting multiple live developments across the South Coast. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong housebuilding background and a keen eye for detail to play a key role in driving quality standards across a portfolio of residential developments.
The Role
Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking key-stage quality inspections across a range of new-build housing projects, ensuring consistent construction standards are achieved throughout the build process. You will carry out inspections, prepare detailed reports using digital inspection software, and work closely with site teams and subcontractors to ensure identified issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct key-stage inspections including:
- Oversite inspections (including dimensional accuracy checks)
- Pre-plaster inspections
- Pre-paint inspections
- Final quality inspections prior to occupation
- Produce detailed inspection reports supported by photographic evidence.
- Distribute reports to relevant stakeholders and monitor actions through to completion.
- Maintain accurate quality records and documentation.
- Identify and escalate any potential latent defects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across construction teams.
- Prepare plot folders and collate service manuals.
- Work collaboratively with site management teams and subcontractors to reduce repeat defects and improve build quality.
Requirements
- Previous experience within residential construction, housebuilding, quality inspection, clerk of works, site management or similar.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building materials and quality standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Computer literate and comfortable using digital reporting systems.
- ONC in Construction, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification.
- CSCS Card or equivalent health and safety certification.
