CRS are currently sourcing a Mobile Tool Fitter (small tools, remote) for one division of our hire client's business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a front leader in the industry, supported by a great team with further training opportunities available. This is a field-based role covering the Bedfordshire area; preferred candidates will live in the area or close enough to commute daily.
This position is ideal for someone with a background in small plant, mechanics, agricultural, or construction equipment who enjoys working independently while being supported by a strong wider team. You'll play a key role in keeping essential equipment operating safely and reliably, working directly at customer sites and taking ownership of your day-to-day workload.
Mobile tool fitter requirements:- Time-served, qualified Plant Fitter, Mechanic or work experience in a similar role would be considered.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to plan your workload and manage time effectively.
- Solid working knowledge of small plant engines (petrol, 2-stroke, 4-stroke, and diesel) is a distinct advantage.
- 12-volt electrical systems knowledge.
- Maintenance of battery-powered tools.
- Carrying out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on company and customer equipment on site.
- Working independently and as part of a team to ensure all equipment meets manufacturer specifications.
- Completing job documentation accurately and following safe working practices at all times.
- Managing van stock levels and ordering parts as required to stay fully equipped.
You’ll also be required to pass a standard Drug & Alcohol medical. Complete PTS (Personal Track Safety) training, all fully arranged and supported by the client. Monday to Friday (40 hours). Further training and certification on offer. Overtime available at higher rate.
