Talos360 is recruiting on behalf of a leading self-storage provider for an ambitious and driven Assistant General Manager.
You'll support the running of a busy store, drive commercial performance, and help deliver an exceptional customer experience, all while developing your career with a growing business.
About the Role
Based at our Streatham (SW16) store, you'll support the day-to-day management of the facility, ensuring smooth operations, strong sales performance, and exceptional customer service.
Working closely with the General Manager, you'll lead by example, inspire the team to achieve business objectives, and help create a safe, organised, and welcoming environment for customers. You'll also step into the General Manager's responsibilities when required, ensuring the store continues to operate efficiently.
- Support the day-to-day management and smooth operation of the self-storage facility.
- Deliver outstanding customer service, assisting customers with enquiries, reservations, move-ins, move-outs, and account management.
- Carry out facility tours and confidently explain products, pricing, and services to prospective customers.
- Assist with team supervision, providing coaching, support, and motivation to maintain high performance and engagement.
- Monitor store performance, helping to implement action plans that improve sales, occupancy, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain excellent standards of presentation, cleanliness, security, and merchandising throughout the facility.
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure units, communal areas, and equipment remain safe and well maintained.
- Support stock control and ordering of retail packaging materials and other store supplies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Health & Safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local businesses and the surrounding community to generate new business opportunities.
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, resolving issues quickly and effectively.
- Take responsibility for opening and closing the store and overseeing operations in the absence of the General Manager.
- Be flexible to provide support across other stores within the region when required.
- Drive sales performance and consistently achieve targets.
- Help train, coach, and motivate team members.
- Build strong relationships with customers and local businesses.
- Step up to lead the store in the absence of the General Manager.
Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 18:00 (two-shift pattern)
Saturday: 09:00 – 18:00
Sunday: 10:00 – 16:00
Flexible and willing to travel between stores when required.
