This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a long-term, permanent position with a strong package and additional earning potential through the on-call rota.
Air Conditioning Engineer Role Description
You will be field-based, working predominantly within a 20-mile radius of Basingstoke, carrying out a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance across commercial air conditioning systems.
Responsibilities will include:
- Planned preventative maintenance and servicing
- Reactive maintenance and fault finding
- Working on commercial air conditioning systems
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
- Working on complex VRV/VRF systems
- Responding to out-of-hours breakdowns as part of a 1-in-6 on-call rota
- Maintaining excellent customer relationships and communication
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
The Package
- Up to £47,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Full-time, permanent employment
- Minimum 40-hour working week
- 1 week in 6 on-call rota
- Out-of-hours breakdowns paid at a minimum of 4 hours
- Overtime , 2x or 2.5x, depending on the circumstances
- Door-to-door travel paid for out-of-hours call-outs
- Predominantly local work within approximately 20 miles of Basingstoke
- Long-term opportunity with an established employer
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Live locally to Basingstoke
- Have a minimum of 2 years' field experience working independently on commercial air conditioning equipment
- Have strong experience with VRV/VRF systems
- Hold current F-Gas Certification
- Hold a minimum Level 2 NVQ Diploma (City & Guilds 6187) or equivalent
- Hold a full, clean UK driving licence
- Have strong commercial awareness
- Have a robust work ethic and excellent communication skills
- PASMA and IPAF certification is preferred, although not essential
