An experienced Accounts Manager is required to lead the day-to-day finance function within a busy construction environment. This is a hands-on, senior role, managing a small team while overseeing key financial processes including invoicing, sales ledger and credit control.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the sales ledger across multiple projects and clients
- Oversee invoicing, including applications and valuations
- Lead credit control activities to maintain strong cash flow
- Work closely with Quantity Surveyors and Contracts Managers
- Ensure accurate billing aligned with project progress
- Support month-end processes and reporting
- Reconcile accounts and resolve queries efficiently
- Identify and improve finance processes and systems
- Manage and support 13 Accounts Assistants
- Allocate workload and oversee daily tasks
- Provide training and ongoing development
- Previous experience as an Accounts Manager or Senior Accounts professional
- Must have a strong background in construction or property services
- Solid understanding of: Sales ledger, Invoicing/applications, Credit control
- Experience working in a project-based, high-volume environment
- Proven team management experience
- Strong organisational and communication skills
