On behalf of Great British Energy, we are looking for a HR Business Partner (Inside IR35) for a 12 months contract based in Aberdeen 2 days per week. Great British Energy will be a publicly owned, operationally independent energy company, designed to drive clean energy deployment, boost energy independence, create jobs and ensure UK taxpayers, billpayers and communities reap the benefits of clean, secure, homegrown energy.
The role is responsible for helping to build a new HR function and shape GBE's people agenda. Acting as the strategic HR business partner to the Executive Team, it develops and delivers HR plans aligned to organisational needs. It provides expert advice on key people priorities including workforce planning, talent, D&I, complex casework, change management and HR policy. The role sits within a highly motivated, customer-focused HR team committed to delivering high-quality, practical HR solutions for leaders and staff.
As a HR Business Partner, your main responsibilities will be:
- Partner with the CEO and executive leaders to provide strategic people advice, constructive challenge and support to deliver business outcomes.
- Lead delivery of key HR initiatives including workforce planning, restructuring, resourcing, talent, reward, employee relations, engagement and performance.
- Develop and embed reliable workforce plans aligned to headcount and budget, recommending effective and innovative resourcing solutions.
- Support talent management and D&I initiatives, strengthening leadership capability, improving inclusion and developing organisational pipelines.
- Act as a change partner, ensuring people change plans effectively support organisational transitions and major programmes.
- Provide expert advice on complex HR casework and work collaboratively across the HR function to deliver high-quality people services.
Essential:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credible relationships, remain calm under pressure, and exercise sound judgement in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative, proactive self-starter with the ability to diagnose issues, think creatively and provide practical HR solutions.
- Experience in HR Business Partnering or involvement in complex HR/change projects with transferable skills.
- TUPE and working with Trade Unions experience.
Desirable:
- CIPD qualified or currently studying towards a CIPD qualification.
