An opportunity to join a highly ambitious private equity backed business based in South Manchester. Internally this role will be highly visible and be a key member of the central finance team, working closely with the Financial Controller and CFO.
Ideally suited to an ACA qualified Accountant looking for a move out of audit and a more commercially focussed role in industry, main duties will include:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with local standards and statutory requirements
- Own the general ledger, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead statutory accounts preparation and act as the primary contact for external auditors
- Ensure timely and compliant tax filings, including VAT returns and corporation tax support
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, meeting tight reporting deadlines
- Partner with FP&A and commercial teams to provide financial insight and variance analysis
- Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and documentation
- Support system improvements, automation initiatives, and accounting policy changes
- Manage and mentor junior finance team members where applicable
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects such as acquisitions, integrations, or process transformation
Candidate profile:
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Strong technical background
- Excellent Excel skills
- Prior staff management is advantageous
