An exciting opportunity to join a private equity backed business in South Manchester at a time when they are gearing up for a pivotal event in their growth cycle. This is a newly created role due to an internal promotion and offers an ideal opportunity for a newly qualified Accountant to gain more hands-on experience in a very supportive and fast-paced environment.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will have a broad list of duties including:

  • Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
  • Partner with operational and departmental leaders to provide financial insight and support decision-making
  • Prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and rolling financial projections
  • Analyse business performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve profitability
  • Maintain and improve financial models, KPIs, and reporting packs for senior leadership
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
  • Review cost centres, margins, and overheads, challenging spend and driving efficiency initiatives
  • Assist with statutory accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors as required
  • Contribute to process improvements, systems enhancements, and automation of reporting
  • Ensure strong financial governance, compliance, and adherence to company policies and procedures

Candidate profile:

This role is ideally suited to a newly qualified accountant (finalist considered), you could be industry trained (CIMA/ACCA) or perhaps coming from a mid-upper tier practice (ACA/ACCA) and looking for a step like this.
