The Interim Financial Accountant is responsible for managing and delivering accurate financial information in line with statutory and regulatory requirements. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing the month end and year end close processes, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The post-holder ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, providing timely and accurate reports to support business decision-making.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice and International Financial Reporting Standards where applicable.
- Manage the month end and year end close processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
- Support the preparation of management accounts, analysing variances and providing explanations to senior management.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow analysis.
