A well-established and growing business is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join its Liverpool-based finance team. Part of a larger international group with operations across multiple countries, the business operates within a fast-paced, operationally focused environment and offers the opportunity to gain exposure across a complex multi-site operation.
This is a hands-on role suited to a commercially aware accountant who enjoys working closely with operational stakeholders and contributing to continuous improvement projects within finance. Reporting into the Finance Director, you will support the preparation of monthly management accounts and provide meaningful financial analysis to support operational decision-making across the business.
Responsibilities- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Producing detailed variance analysis across areas such as staffing, fuel, fleet and maintenance costs
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and month-end journals
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Developing and improving Excel-based reporting tools and analysis
- Producing financial information for operational and depot management teams
- Assisting with year-end processes and audit support
- Supporting ongoing systems and process improvement initiatives, including finance system migration projects
- Assisting with ad hoc reporting and operational finance analysis as required
- Potential involvement in weekly payroll support
- Experienced within a Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Confident working within a fast-moving operational environment
- Strong on Excel, with the ability to manipulate and analyse large volumes of data
- Comfortable communicating with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive, organised, and keen to improve processes
- Salary circa £40,000
