Management Accountant
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 pro rata
Contract: 3–6 months, with the opportunity to go permanent
We are recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant to join a successful and established business in Liverpool on an initial 3–6 month contract, with the potential for a permanent opportunity for the right person.
Working closely with the senior finance team, you will take responsibility for the production of accurate monthly management accounts and provide meaningful financial analysis to support commercial decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet reporting.
- Complete month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
- Carry out balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Analyse financial performance against budget, forecast and previous periods.
- Produce financial and margin analysis for senior management.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Assist with audit requirements and maintain strong financial controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and efficiencies.
- Support wider finance activities as required.
About You
- Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or QBE.
- Previous experience working as a Management Accountant.
- Strong management accounting and month-end experience.
- Excellent Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Commercially minded with the ability to communicate financial information effectively.
- Able to work independently and hit the ground running in a busy finance environment.
Experience with group structures, overseas entities or high-volume stock environments would be advantageous.
