The predicted salary is between 37000 - 49000 £ per year.

Job Location: Poole, Dorset

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum, Depending on experience

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm / 8am - 12.30pm

A specialist engineering company are currently recruiting for a Technical Buyer. This is a newly created role for the business due to the increased demand for their products and service.

This is a busy role where you will be working in a small team to purchase parts and materials for production, source new suppliers, build working relationships with suppliers and negotiate the best terms for the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Source new supplier for materials and components for production
  • Negotiate prices, lead times, and supplier terms
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and review performance
  • Support NPI and engineering changes
  • Manage supplier risks around capacity, quality, and supply
  • Forecast material demand and price trends
  • Manage inventory levels including managing slow‑moving / obsolete stock

The successful applicant will:

  • Have previous buying / purchasing / procurement experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing / engineering industry
  • Ability to understand, interpret and purchase from engineering drawings
  • Demonstrate experience of sourcing new suppliers
