Job Location: Poole, Dorset

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to ÂŁ35,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Full or Part time hours available;

  • Full Time: 36.5 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5pm & Friday 8.30am – 4pm
  • Part Time: 3 days: Monday to Wednesday
  • Part Time: 4 days: Monday to Thursday
  • Part Time: Across 5 days

We are looking for an experienced Payroll & Finance Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Finance team. Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in delivering accurate weekly and monthly payrolls across the group of companies, while also supporting employee expenses and company credit card processes. This is a varied, hands‑on role ideal for someone who enjoys detail, takes pride in accuracy, and likes working collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting end‑to‑end weekly payroll, including clocking reports, absence checks, system imports, and payroll reports
  • Producing monthly payrolls across multiple operating companies
  • Providing cover for the Payroll Manager during holidays
  • Processing employee expenses via the system and manual claims
  • Supporting and updating employee expenses policies
  • Managing company credit cards, handling employee queries, liaising with Barclaycard, and chasing outstanding claims
  • Preparing monthly payroll journals and supporting P11Ds and PSA processes

Qualifications

  • Previous payroll experience
  • Experience working with payroll systems
  • Excellent data entry skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with colleagues at all levels
  • A positive, approachable and “can‑do” outlook
  • Strong problem‑solving skills
