We are seeking an experienced Project Controller to join a global Aerospace manufacturer in Letchworth.
Founded over 90 years ago, this company have developed & grown every year to where they are now known for the design & manufacture of aerospace components and parts.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in project controls, project management, or cost management to play a key role in the successful delivery of complex engineering projects.
You will be responsible for overseeing project management activities, ensuring that project timelines and budgets are adhered to, and providing insights that drive cost efficiency and project success.
You will work closely with project managers and stakeholders to monitor progress, mitigate risks, and ensure that financial goals are met.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Support the PMO Manager with department budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Work with Project Managers to develop project cost estimates, business cases, project baselines, and project management plans.
- Assist with project planning and scheduling to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet customer expectations.
- Review project bid packs prior to submission.
- Develop and maintain project control documentation, including risk registers, issue logs, action trackers, and change control registers.
- Liaise with Finance to provide accurate budget forecasts and Estimates at Completion (EAC).
- Implement and maintain project control processes, tools, and reporting mechanisms across the project portfolio.
- Conduct financial and performance analysis to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain master project schedules, including resource planning, task dependencies, and progress tracking against baselines.
- Support the production of monthly project reports and stakeholder presentation packs.
- Maintain PMO processes and controls on a day-to-day basis.
- Achieve agreed objectives and KPIs while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- The successful candidate will possess;
- A minimum of 2–3 years' experience in Project Controls, Project Management, or Cost Management within an engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, or similar technical environment.
- Good understanding of project management methodologies such as PMI or PRINCE2.
- Experience using Microsoft Project or similar project planning software.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Syteline, or equivalent for project financial management and reporting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Power Point.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
