Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 16.45 & Friday 7.30am – 12.30pm
We are currently recruiting for a Machine Shop Assistant to join a well-established manufacturing company. The role will see you working alongside the machinists and undertaking a variety of duties to help out within this department from undertaking machine operating, cutting, part marking, grinding, etching, moving things around. Anything to help the department out is what is required. This is a really nice company to work for and we have been told that this is a 3 – 6-month contract that could go longer.
Key Responsibilities- Operate machines
- Loading and unloading materials
- Part marking and etching
- Grinding
- Moving parts from stores to the machine shop then back into finished goods area
- Keeping the workshop clean and tidy
- Helping out with any other tasks required to help the machine shop operate smoothly
- Previous experience of working within an engineering environment undertaking any machine operating or general engineering duties
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance
- This role would also suit an apprentice or someone with a couple of years broad engineering experience.
