A well-known manufacturing company that supplies many industry sectors including electronics, medical, telecommunications & retail are seeking to recruit an Estimator to join their team. They have a strong reputation with our existing client base which has been built around offering design support, quality products, and high levels of customer service.
The successful candidate will need to be a highly motivated individual who has previous estimating experience, with a background in sheet metal to join our team. Your focus will be to work within the team collaboratively with the production team working on new & existing sheet metal engineering quotations and projects.
Main duties:
- To prepare costings based on engineering/technical drawings, for a varied product line.
- Prepare customer estimates.
- Analyse new and existing jobs, working towards the betterment of the engineering processes being used.
- You will be required to liaise with customers on occasion, providing a confident level of technical support, advising on best practices and capabilities.
- Liaise with supporting departments, providing technical and administrative duties to improve the sheet metal processes and internal work instructions.
Required qualities:
- Previous experience from a sheet metal fabrication background is essential.
- Good understanding of production / sales cost.
- Previous experience in costing, target costs, and return estimates are desirable.
- Able to understand technical drawings, and translate in line with production costings / estimates.
- Enthusiastic team player with a positive outlook, driven towards results and personal targets.
- Experience within the engineering sector, with strong exposure to sheet metal fabrication-based products, would be an advantage.
