Job Location: Crewkerne, Somerset

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £31,258.88 - £37,441.48 per annum (Basic salary £25,007.10 - £29,953.18 per annum + 25% shift allowance)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, rotating shift;

  • Week 1: Monday – Friday 6am – 2pm
  • Week 2: Monday – Thursday 2pm - Midnight

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Grinder to join a well established precision engineering business. This is a hands on role working to tight tolerances, producing high quality components for demanding industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set, operate and adjust CNC grinding machines
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Work to tolerances and expected quality standards
  • Carry out basic program edits and tooling adjustments
  • Use manual measuring equipment (micrometers, bore gauges, plug gauges, etc.)
  • Perform routine machine checks and basic maintenance
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to schedule

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a CNC Grinder within a precision engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of grinding processes and tooling
  • Ability to work from detailed engineering drawings
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Experience with FANUC, Siemens or similar controls (advantageous)
  • Apprenticeship or engineering qualification preferred but not essential
